Blogging My Birfday

  • Midnight-1:00 a.m. - Finished up watching Letterman. Got some things ready for the morning. Decided to wake up at 6:40 and walk on the treadmill. Went to bed.
  • 6:40-8:15 a.m. - Woke up with some fierce pain in my groinial area. To avoid being a wuss I got up out of bed and gingerly walked on the treadmill for 25 minutes. Ate some breakfast: the Kix cereal that the kids won't eat. Ryan sang Happy Birthday to me as I ate my cereal and added an enthusiastic "Hooray!" at the end like they do in school, he explained. Found out his school is cancelled today because of impending snow. Looked out the window and grumbled at the thought of plowing the driveway while having pain in the nutular vicinity.
  • 8:15-lunch - work.
  • 12:30 p.m. - Went to Subway and spent an inordinate amount of time deciding what I wanted to eat for lunch.
  • 1:00 p.m. - Ran up to the Communications Department to get a birthday donut or two. I share the same birthday as another person in our division. Coincidentally, her mom has the same maiden name as my mom. Weird.
  • 1:30-5:00 p.m. - work.
  • 5:00 p.m. - Went home and picked up the fam to go to Bennigan's to eat. I had a comp. via e-mail that allowed me to get a free meal (with purchase of another meal) and a brownie pie. It was also Kids Eat Free night so we walked out of Bennigan's paying less than $11 for two adult meals and two kids meals. We left the waitress a good tip.
  • 6:30 p.m. - Cruised over to Best Buy to return the case I purchased for my new iPod. Went to Border's, looked around, and picked up a daily Dilbert calendar for my desk for $6.
  • 8:30 p.m. - Came home and listened to my parents sing "Happy Birthday" to me on the answering machine as well as a nice birthday message from Scott. Opened a few presents and cards and then put the kids to bed.
  • 9:15 p.m. - Crashed on the couch for a little while watching some shows on the Travel channel and the Scrubs season premiere. Dozed off a few times but that enabled me to stay up until 1:30 a.m. to download music.
  • 1:45 a.m. - Went to bed.
I may expand on this a little bit later but I at least wanted to put up the basics of what happened yesterday. A funny thing happened this morning, though (Wednesday the 4th). I walked in the door and the three guys I work with began wishing me a hearty happy birthday. I grinned and calmly said, "It was yesterday."

What is this world coming to?

I am appalled by this example of degradation in society. This sickens me.
